What is KYBELLA®?
KYBELLA® is an FDA approved injectable drug administered by a physician to reduce the amount of fullness under the chin which is often referred to as a “double chin.” The generic name of KYBELLA® is “deoxycholic acid” and it works by “dissolving” the fat cells in the treated areas.
KYBELLA® has not been adequately studied for its safety and efficacy for use outside of the submental area, for women who are pregnant/nursing or in children less than 18 years of age.
Who should not receive KYBELLA®?
Patients with soft tissue infection under the chin or in the neck should not receive KYBELLA®.

In the clinic studies, the jawline nerve injuries resolved spontaneously within a month a half in patients who developed this side effect.

How many treatments of KYBELLA® will I need to see results?
Most patient will have visible results in 2-4 treatments. In the clinical studies, 59% of the patients received 6 treatments. Treatments are given at least 4-12 weeks apart.
How long will the KYBELLA® treatment results last?
Once the fat cells in the submental areas have been adequately “dissolved” and the desired aesthetic outcome has been achieved, the results from KYBELLA® treatment should last, provided the patient’s weight remains stable.
