Juvederm Vollure XC

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC is the newest product from the VYCROSS family of Juvederm fillers made by Allergan (the makers of Botox & Latisse). VOLLURE XC is FDA approved to treat nasolabial folds (the fold extending from the nose to the corners of the mouth).

VYCROSS is a proprietary filler technology that blends hyaluronic acid of different molecular weights to create a longer lasting filler material. The first product made with this technology was Juvederm Voluma XC which was introduced to the United States in 2013. This was followed by the introduction of Juvederm Volbella XC in early 2017.

In clinical trials, many of the subjects injected with Vollure XC were found to have an improvement in the treated facial wrinkles lasting for up to 18 months.

Compared to Voluma XC and Volbella XC, VOLLURE XC has hyaluronic acid (HA) concentration that is less than Voluma XC but higher than that of Volbella XC.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC softens moderate to severe parentheses lines and wrinkles by adding volume to the lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth to produce subtle and long-lasting results for up to 18 months.

VOLLURE XC comes with the local anesthetic “Lidocaine” added to the mixture to help minimize discomfort during the procedure.

Juvederm is the number one selling dermal filler in the United States and the world.

Some of the common side effects of VOLLURE XC include: swelling, redness, bruising, firmness, lumps/bumps, mild pain and itching. These side effects are usually temporary and resolve on their own without requiring additional treatment.

Who should not receive Juvederm Vollure XC?

People with known allergy to hyaluronic acid fillers or lidocaine should avoid getting VOLLURE XC.

If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or currently breastfeeding; you should avoid getting VOLLURE XC because its effects during pregnancy or while breastfeeding have not been fully studied.

VOLLURE XC was studied on subjects over the age of 21. Its use on people under 22 years of age has not been studied.

If you are taking blood thinners such as Coumadin (Warfarin), Plavix, Heparin, Eliquis, Xarelto, Pradaxa etc., it is recommended that you discontinue (with your MD’s permission) use of the blood thinners prior to undergoing treatment with JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC as these may cause increased bruising and bleeding.
